Wherever you choose to spend your day on the reserve, you are enveloped by wildlife, natural bush and breathtaking views. At Tomjachu you can experience nature at its finest. Couple that with various activities (nature drives, Kruger safaris, hiking, biking, fishing, swimming or picnics by the dam), and your family will love you for bringing them here.

We are conveniently located only 35 minutes from the Nelspruit Kruger airport and if you are not driving yourselves we can arrange a transfer to collect you and bring you to the retreat.

Our different rooming options offer suitable family accommodation for small or multi-generational families and groups. We can even provide a childminding for families with small children to give parents the chance to enjoy an extended four-course dinner by candlelight at the Homestead one evening.

Valbonne Villa provides you with 5 star comforts and privacy, while still maintaining a home-away-from-home experience with full self-catering facilities. It has 6 ensuite bedrooms, a private pool, spacious dining areas, fire pit and braai (BBQ) for outdoor cooking. Eat at home or book dinner at our Homestead and end your day with a nightcap around the crackling fire whilst the children sleep safely nearby dreaming about the adventures of the day.

The Homestead has three individual bedrooms, one ensuite bedroom in the main house, and two interconnecting suites in the adjoining North cottage, making it ideal for small families and groups. The Homestead offers a more inclusive package with breakfast and dinner included.

Bush Cottage is nestled amongst the trees and a great option for smaller families or groups that prefer more privacy. The unspoiled natural landscape surrounds the cottage and there is a private pool to dip into after a hot day. Alternatively on cooler evenings snuggle around the cozy fireplace inside.

We can take children aged three and upwards on our nature drives which, early in the morning, are accompanied by coffee and rusks or late afternoon with sundowners and snacks.

A family holiday at Tomjachu is also not complete without exploring some of the surrounding area. There are numerous attractions to visit nearby;

• The Panorama Route is a full day excursion including sites like the Blyde River Canyon, Mac Mac Falls & God’s Window.
• A great option for a family with small children is to visit the Sudwala Caves & Dinosaur Park.
• For those wanting a cultural experience, a visit to the Shangana Cultural Village can be arranged. Chief Israel Ngobeni and his family host the Evening Festival, where singers and entertainers gather to tell the story of the Shangana people.
