Once a family home, our award-winning, owner-run retreat resides within its own private nature reserve, just 15 km outside Nelspruit. It is the ideal destination for those seeking to unwind and relax in nature, while also offering a range of activities for adventure seekers. Here, you can explore the abundant natural wonders which inhabit our 500-hectare property, whilst enjoying the elegant comfort of our unique accommodation.

Our Bush Dinner is a truly unforgettable experience. Watch the mountains turn pink in the fading sunset light on a nature drive before meandering down the valley to be welcomed by a crackling fire, and the scent of delicious food being prepared. Dinner is served under the canopy of the night sky with only the sounds of the trilling nightjars to enhance the tranquillity.
Unique locations for your special celebrations
Tomjachu Bush Retreat is a perfect location for intimate destination weddings, offering stunning bush locations for your ceremony, and beautiful accommodation for up to 32 people.
We cater for small to medium weddings, from just the two of you, up to a maximum of 80 guests. On the reserve we have a number of unique locations where ceremonies and receptions can be held, all with incredible mountain views creating the perfect backdrop for your special day. If being out in the bush isn’t your cup of tea, the lawns at our Historic Homestead beneath the shade of a giant fig tree, or at our exclusive Valbonne Villa, offer a more traditional alternative.

One of the Lowveld`s most elegant birds. These agile insect hunters spend much of their day darting through the trees, catching insects in flight with remarkable speed and precision.
The males are famous for their long flowing tail streamers during the breeding season.
Keep your eyes on the canopy - you may just spot one on your next visit.

Tucked beneath a magnificent fig tree, Keeper`s Cottage is designed for couples looking to slow down and enjoy the peace and privacy of the Lowveld.
This one-bedroom cottage features a spacious open-plan living area, a fully equipped kitchen, a private boma and braai area, an indoor fireplace for cooler evenings, and a large veranda overlooking the retreat and surrounding mountains.
Guests also have access to the Homestead swimming pool and dining room, just a short walk away.

Rock House sits in its own private corner of the reserve, built for two. A plunge pool, sweeping mountain views, and evenings that end under more stars than you knew existed. There`s not much to do here except enjoy it.
