Let your bush retreat adventure begin…
On arrival at Tomjachu for this itinerary, you will be welcomed by an attentive team, a glass of homemade ice tea and a scented towel to wipe the dust from your brow. Take in the spectacular far reaching mountain views from the historic homestead terrace before being escorted to your dreamy villa or stone cottage positioned on the original sites of the old farm-workers houses.
You may choose to put your feet up until dinner or you may wish to take a gentle walk, explore, hike the koppie or spend the afternoon taking pleasure in our resident ostrich’s quirky antics from your hammock.
Dinner is served by our experienced chef at the original homestead built in 1987 by Gordon Fillery who’s footsteps his grandsons Tom, Jack & Hugo, now follow.
The next morning we suggest a longer self or guided walk, hike or cycle around the reserve with a Tomjachu picnic by the very dam where the grandsons used to play. If you are lucky you might spot the rare cape clawless otter or come across a herd of grazing zebra. There is no dangerous game on the reserve so walking is safe and enjoyable.
In the afternoon we will take you on a guided nature drive followed by an exotic bush dinner under the stars guaranteed to leave lasting memories.
The following morning we would like to take you on a guided bush walk to share with you our passion & knowledge of the surrounding Nature. We will teach you about the flora & fauna of the area, the history of the region and Tomjachu’s secrets of the bush after which you will return to lavish breakfast before we wave you off.
