Accommodation

Our accommodation gallery features varying different aspects of our accommodation options at Tomjachu, from our individual suites and restaurant in the classically styled Homestead to our delightful self catering cottages and 5* Valbonne Villa.

Activities

Showing images from our nature drives, guided bush walks, specialist bird walks, star gazing, hiking, fishing and mountain biking. With so many activities on offer we are always adding to our exciting activities gallery.

Landscapes

Striking and dramatic landscapes with countless vistas at Tomjachu will excite any landscape photographer. With constantly shifting light and seasonal changes this gallery is one of our most spectacular. 

Flora

Our flora gallery is growing all the time. Here we capture the often overlooked, but extremely diverse and colourful tapestry of fascinating indigenous flowers, trees and plants that surround us on the reserve.

Fauna

Without a doubt our variety of game on the reserve are a favourite photo subject. Our wildlife gallery includes giraffe, zebra, kudu, blue wildebeest, warthog, mountain reedbuck and more. You may even get a lucky glimpse of the resident cape clawless otters!

Birds

We have so far recorded over 275 different bird species on the property and capturing each and every one for our bird gallery is an ongoing project. Our variety of different habitats on the reserve create homes for a wonderful array of colourful bird species.

Trail Cameras

At various points across the Tomjachu nature reserve we have deployed a number of remote Trail Cameras. These trail cams are designed to photograph animals in their natural habitat undisturbed by human presence, and provide a variety of useful insights into the wildlife which calls Tomjachu home.

The images and data we gather from these cameras not only allows us to record what species we have on the reserve (particularly the more timid creatures), but also provide us with valuable insights into animal movement and behaviour, which helps to inform our wildlife management decisions on the reserve.

The cameras have been kindly loaned to us by Sarah E. Huebner, Research Manager at Snapshot Safari and the University of Minnesota Lion Center, with the assistance of Dr. Mike Peel from the ARC. ‘

The Stoep Sitters

Are you one of our famous zebra herds’ groupies? We are constantly updating our zebra gallery. We recently had a calf born into the herd named Zazu by our Facebook followers. Here we keep running updates of what the Stoepsitters have been up to!
